Crimson clover is a great, cost effective legume that should be considered in any cover crop mix. In the upper Midwest, it will likely winterkill, but can still provide great benefit before that point. Crimson clover has great compatibility with other popular cover crop species.

3)Buster Radish

Buster radishes are a cross between two varieties of daikon radish, resulting in a radish that has large a large root and leaf structure. Radishes have a great versatility in cover cropping systems. They’re great a alleviating soil compaction, aerating the soil, and tying up nutrients.
